Hello everyone!  We are back from our dreaded trip downstate.  Well, we have been for a week now but just trying to get back into the swing of things and finding the time to sit down and write.

Everything went well considering.  Michael Farris was wonderful!!   He truly is a gift from God.  The panel of three judges asked him lots of questions, but he answered each one with grace and precision.  🙂  DHS’ lawyer, on the other hand, stumbled and stuttered through her statements like usual.  Certainly a God thing, I believe.  The judges questioned her like crazy too, but it was different.  Their questioning to her was because she wasn’t making any sense.  Their questioning to Michael was because they wanted to learn more or gain more insight on his reasoning, I believe.  It’s always so fascinating to listen to Michael speak.  We are so blessed to have him.  He even prayed with us before we went into the court room.  How many lawyers pray with their clients?  How awesome is that???  🙂

Well, just as we suspected, we probably won’t know anything for a couple of months or so.  Now we just wait!  They will either dismiss it or they will have Judge Solka (our original judge who dismissed it twice) have a trial.   As annoying and stressful as this all is, God certainly is in control and has His hand on us.   Sometimes through all the stress I have to remind myself of that several times a day, but at the end of the day I know our Heavenly Father reigns!!

Thank you to everyone that showed up to support us.  We really appreciate it!  The court room was full with people even standing, but still not as many as we would have liked.  Thank you to my parents, sisters, brother and nephew that came to support us.  I love you all so much!  Also to our dear friend Carisa who drove 3 hours just to be there for us.  You are an amazing friend and we love you too!  🙂  We also had Kelly the Kitchen Kop who is also a new friend to my sisters and I, Kathy Spohn and a sweet family that drove from Zeeland to be there for support.  I apologize I don’t remember your names, but thank you so much!    There were others there and I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to talk, but thank you to everyone for taking time out of your busy schedules to come.  And thank you to those who couldn’t be there, but were praying so diligently.  Oh, I almost forgot, thank you to our dear neighbors the Larsens for watching over our chickens while we were gone.  We are so blessed to have you living next door.  🙂

We are told to just try to go on with our lives like normal (whatever that means) and try to act like none of this is happening until we hear something from the Court of Appeals.  Easier said then done.  But I guess we’ll try our best.  🙂  We’ll go camping, canoeing, swimming, hang with friends and whatever else we can fit in before school starts.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and most of all their family.  Hold your kids tight and tell them you love them, hug and kiss them several times a day.  And don’t forget about your spouse.  I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive husband.  Thanks again for all your support and prayers!  God bless!!
